Chennai, Mar 27 : The tamil nadu government tonight announced that S S Jawahar would be secretary in the newly created department for welfare of differently abled persons.
An official press release tonight said that Jawahar, Managing Director of Tamil nadu State Marketing Coporation had been transferred and posted as Secretary in the department
The release noted that this year's budget had announced that the department would be created and it would function under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister.
Based on the announcement, the government has decided that subjects relating to differently abled persons be separated from social welfare and nuturious meal programme and a new department -- department for welfare of differently abled persons created in the secretriat, it said. - Agencies
